The historic cornerstone at the Allen County Courthouse is whole again after it was damaged by a vandal with a sledgehammer more than a year and a half ago.

The repaired cornerstone will be rededicated Tuesday by officials with the Allen County Courthouse Preservation Trust and the county commissioners. The event is open to “anyone interested in local history and architecture,” according to the commissioners’ news release.

The event will be at 10 a.m. on the northeast side of the courthouse, which is where the cornerstone lies facing East Main Street and the Rousseau Centre. Presenters will share information about the restoration process and the historic landmark’s significance, the news release said.
