The New York Jets’ season is going from bad to worse.
Star wide receiver Garrett Wilson is expected to miss “a couple of weeks” after hyper-extending his knee, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Monday.
However, an MRI revealed that Wilson avoided a serious injury, ESPN’s Rich Cimini reported.
Wilson, 25, had three catches for 13 yards in New York’s 13-11 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday in London, England.
It is unclear when the injury occurred.
For the season, Wilson has 36 catches for 395 yards and four touchdowns in six games, but the Jets sit last in the AFC East at 0-6.
New York faces the Carolina Panthers next Sunday and the Cincinnati Bengals the following game before its Week 9 bye.
