LUDLOW, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - The holiday weekend may be wrapping up, but what could drivers expect as they made their way back home? Western Mass News went to the Ludlow rest stop and spoke with folks about their travel experience Monday.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation urging drivers to plan ahead for their holiday travels this Columbus Day weekend.

MassDOT shared a holiday weekend travel forecast on social media which showed, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday all had consistent heavy traffic throughout the day, telling drivers to expect delays.

On the other hand, conditions are on the greener side Monday, meaning little or no delays were expected for most of the day with traffic backup expected between 1:00 and 4:00 in the afternoon.
