PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. — On Monday, Pulaski County Sheriff Eric Higgins announced that he is once again in the running for the position.
Higgins has over four decades of experience in law enforcement and has been dedicated to public service for the Pulaski County community.
He was first elected to the position in 2018, where he made history as the first Black sheriff in the 200+ year history of Pulaski County.
Higgins is also a 30-year veteran of the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) and a former assistant chief of police.
Recently, he was also the man behind a series on Netflix called Unlocked: A Jail Experiment, which debuted in the United States. The show follows 46 unguarded inmates in the Pulaski County Regional Detention facility to see if they can govern themselves.
