TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Cleanup is underway throughout southern Arizona after the wettest day in over a year hit the region on Sunday, leaving behind mud, debris, and property damage across Tucson’s eastside.

A powerful microburst tore through the Tanque Verde neighborhood Saturday afternoon, bringing strong winds that longtime residents said they’d never experienced before.

Bob Snellstrom, who has lived in the area for more than three decades, was shocked by the damage the short microburst caused.

“I lived in New Orleans for 16 years, and I’ve been through hurricanes; this was hurricane-force wind,” Snellstrom said.
