LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A watch and jewelry store in the west Las Vegas valley was burglarized early Sunday morning, according to its owner. Surveillance video captured the suspect, who was armed with a sledgehammer.

AJ Stein, owner of Asset Appeal, located on Flamingo Road near Fort Apache Road, said the suspect attempted to enter through the front door, failed, and then broke the window.

“I always knew there was an inherent risk with having a retail watch and jewelry store and carrying the kind of jewelry that we do. I just didn't expect it to happen here,” Stein said ,
