The Righetti football team authoritatively snapped its five-game losing streak Friday night, winning its Sunset League opener 31-21 at defending league champion San Luis Obispo.

Righetti senior quarterback Nick Matautia threw for 268 yards and four touchdowns. Matautia connected on 10 of his 15 passes and did not throw an interception.

Both of Daniel France's receptions, totaling 125 yards, went for Righetti touchdown. The lone reception for Thomas Harris was a 12-yard touchdown pass. Matautia also threw a touchdown pass to Caden Viker. David Monge kicked a 40-yard field goal for Righetti.

The Warriors (2-5, 1-0) got back into the win column after being out-scored by a total of 218-107 their previous five games.
