MINOT, ND (KXNET) — Minot’s new police chief has 90 days under his holster. From recruiting and retention to SWAT policy and mental health, he said the focus is “restoring hope” within the department.
Three months in, Chief Michael Frye said he is focused on retention and rebuilding trust — both inside the department and out.
“It starts with retention. It starts with making sure that you value what you already got. You value, and you show them that you care," Frye said. "That was one of my top priorities, sitting down and going, what are the gaps? Talk to me about what we have, what we're not doing. How could we be better? What are some of the things that you've been begging for that you just wish somebody would listen.”
