A single speed camera in Adelaide has generated almost $5 million in fine revenue over the past twelve months.
The hotspot for speeding on the South Eastern Freeway at Leawood Gardens was identified by the Royal Automobile Association (RAA) as a significant revenue generator.
The camera, reportedly the busiest in South Australia, detected almost 6000 speeding vehicles in the past financial year.
"It's cost me a lot of money in speeding fines," motorist Bertie Stevens said.
"My fine ended up being $1260, [I] had to re-draw on the house," motorist Jane Wearing said.
Fixed speed cameras at other locations also contributed significantly to the overall revenue.
The camera on Tapley's Hill Road at West Beach recorded over $2 million in fines, while another on West Lakes Boulevard at West L
