An arrest has been made after a 15-year-old girl was killed in an ambush shooting in Cocoa last week, the Brevard County Sheriff's Office announced Monday.
Jonterich Smith, 20, is charged with first-degree premeditated murder and two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm. He is being held without bond.
The BCSO is still looking for the second suspect, Xazavier Butler. If found, he will face the same charges as Smith and be held without bond.
According to the arrest report, the incident occurred last Monday outside a seafood restaurant on Clearlake Road in Cocoa.
Investigators said the suspects arrived at 4:11 p.m. in a Dodge Durango, and Smith "fanned money in front of his face before making a purchase."
