SANDY, Utah (ABC4) — A man was shot following a robbery in Sandy, leaving him in critical condition.

According to Sandy Police Department, the incident occurred around 8:22 p.m. near 8720 S 90 E in Sandy. An attempted robbery of a person turned into an argument and resulted in one man being shot.

The person who was shot is a 40-year-old male, and he has been transported to Intermountain Medical Center in "very critical condition."

The investigation is ongoing. Witnesses are being interviewed, but police told ABC4 that they do not believe there is any ongoing danger to the public. They believe the shooter could have been a known party to the victim, though that has not been fully determined yet
