CHEYENNE — A local man was arrested Friday on 22 counts of felony aggravated cruelty to animals following an investigation that uncovered more than 100 injured, sick and severely neglected animals at a residential property.

Michael Ohern was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center, according to a news release sent out Monday by the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office.

The arrest followed a joint investigation led by Cheyenne Animal Control and Sheriff’s Office detectives. Detectives seized more than 100 animals, including 22 that were deceased, during a warrant service on a residence in the 200 block of H Bar E Drive, east of U.S. Highway 85 and south of Chalk Bluff Road south of Cheyenne.
