Vision has emerged of a near dramatic incident at Bathurst with a kangaroo appearing out of nowhere and avoiding a car travelling at around 250 km/h.

Bathurst 1000 on Sunday was a race for the ages and attracted huge TV ratings for Seven , but only amazing luck saved the day from a major accident after a kangaroo hopped onto Conrod Straight right in front Kai Allen’s Penrite Ford.

Allen, racing with co-driver Dale Wood, was appearing in his first Bathurst and had already been involved in an incident with stars Brodie Kostecki, Will Brown, and Jack Le Brocq.

He was bumped off the wet and slippery track and had to fight back in the race, eventually clawing his way to eighth despite damage to his rear bodywork.
