Eurovision organisers have announced that a vote to determine whether or not Israel will remain a part of the annual Song Contest next year will no longer be going ahead.
Controversy around Israel’s involvement at Eurovision has been rife for years now , with several participating countries’ national broadcasters saying in the last few months that they will withdraw from the competition if Israel is invited back in 2026.
As a result, it was confirmed last month that each country in the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the group of national broadcasters who put on the music event each year, would take part in a vote in December to determine whether or not Israel is allowed to return.
