Trump wrote on his social media site, “Don’t worry about China,” just days after he sent markets reeling by threatening much higher tariffs on imports from China. Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell while stocks in Shanghai advanced. Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 slipped as trading resumed following a national holiday. On Monday, On Wall Street, the S&P 500 jumped 1.6% to recover more than half its drop from Friday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 1.3% and the Nasdaq composite gained 2.2%. Oil prices edged higher.
