SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Mayor Georgine Welo will have a say in deciding which major transportation projects get the go ahead in Ohio after Gov. Mike DeWine appointed her to serve on the state’s Transportation Review Advisory Council (TRAC) .

Welo, who has served 21 years as South Euclid’s mayor, was officially sworn in to her appointment on Sept. 29, joining a nine-member body that oversees the evaluation and prioritization of major transportation investments across Ohio.

“Major” projects are those that cost at least $12 million and that expand traffic capacity or reduce congestion.
