OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The closed Kremer Funeral Home will soon come back to life under new ownership and a new name, bringing renewed hope to the Benson neighborhood.

Nia Dorsey purchased the funeral home from a bank foreclosure and plans to reopen it as Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation.

Taking over the building essentially as-is, Dorsey is investing significant time and money to update the mortuary both inside and out.

“It’s important to the community, the neighborhood of Benson,” Dorsey said. “We’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback. Folks are happy this is being revitalized and it’s staying a mortuary.”
