ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — One person is dead after a car crash led to a fire on Lake Road in Clarkson.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened Monday night at 11:07 p.m. Deputies said the vehicle left the roadway, stopped in a yard, and caught fire. There was only one person in the vehicle.

Deputies confirmed the individual inside the vehicle has died. Their identity was not released.

Lake Road was shut down for the investigation, but has since reopened. Deputies said no information will be released at this time.
