Two teens were recently dealt with by magistrates after pleading guilty to their charges.

A 15-year-old appeared at Plymouth Magistrates' Court charged with assaulting an emergency worker - namely a police officer.

The court heard that the teen, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, assaulted the officer when police attended a Plymouth property to deal with a family member.

The magistrates ordered the teen to pay the officer £50 in compensation. In addition they referred the 15-year-old to a youth offender panel to attend meetings for six months.

In a separate case, a 17-year-old from a Plymouth address admitted threatening another young male with a bladed article - namely kitchen knife.

Magistrates handed the teen a Detention and Training Order for eight months and ordered him
