Tom Cleverley has declared Plymouth Argyle are getting more than just a goalkeeping coach in Mike Stowell, who has been appointed as the replacement for Darryl Flahavan after his recent departure to Sheffield Wednesday.
Stowell spent 16 years at Leicester City from 2007 until 2023, mainly as their goalkeeping coach but he also had six different spells in caretaker charge of the Foxes.
Cleverley, who had a loan spell at Leicester from Manchester United during the 2008/09 season, believes 60-year-old Stowell will add 'real expertise to my technical staff, both from a goalkeeping and wider coaching perspective'.
Stowell had his first day at training with Argyle today and will be charged with continuing the development of goalkeepers Conor Hazard, Luca Ashby-Hammond and Zak Baker.
