Canadian prime minister Mark Carney subtly corrected President Donald Trump on a hot mic, letting the president know that he mistakenly referred to Carney as “president” in his speech. (Watch the video below.)
“I’m glad you upgraded me to president,” Carney said as Trump fielded congratulations for the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
“Oh did I say” [that]?” Trump replied, as Keir Starmer looked on.
The president tapped Carney on the shoulder and leaned in to whisper, “At least I didn’t say governor.”
