NORRISTOWN — A Philadelphia man was sent to prison on charges he illegally possessed a firearm, a crime discovered after he was involved in a DUI-related hit-and-run crash in Upper Merion Township.

Joseph Leroy Daniel-Fisher, 30, of the 3500 block of North Warnock Street, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 18-to- 36-months in a state correctional facility after he pleaded guilty to charges of carrying a firearm without a license, person not to possess a firearm and driving under the influence of alcohol general impairment in connection with a Dec. 29, 2024, incident in Upper Merion.
