The Priceville City Council voted unanimously Monday evening to reverse the firing of an officer who was terminated for his role in a deadly police chase.

The council deliberated privately for approximately two and a half hours during an appeal hearing before returning with a unanimous decision to reinstate the officer. Mayor Sam Heflin recused himself from the proceedings.

According to a local news report , Gary Chapman, the son of Duane Chapman, also known as Dog the Bounty Hunter, will now be permitted to return to work after a 10-day suspension without pay. Chapman will also begin retraining under a supervisor when the suspension is completed.
