The Triple Lock metric has been announced - with the Department for Work and Pensions potentially set to hand state pensioners MORE cash than expected.
Under the DWP Triple Lock pledge, those on the full new state pension could be on course for £241.30 per week rather than £241.05 while those on the full basic state pension will see their weekly payment rise to £184.90 rather than £184.75.
But those on the basic state pension will be £56 worse off a week, or £2,912 a year. The basic state pension is paid to women born before 1953 and men born before 1951.
