KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- On Tuesday, Research Medical Center is breaking ground on a new $35 million Brookside emergency room, set to open in 2027, at its location in the metro area.

The new facility will replace the current Brookside ER, which will remain open throughout the construction process to ensure uninterrupted services.

This expansion is aimed at enhancing patient care by adding 22 private emergency care rooms to one of the metro's busiest emergency departments and Level One trauma centers.

Research Medical Center, part of HCA Health Midwest, is committed to providing state-of-the-art care with the new Brookside ER.

The facility will be staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians and personnel equipped to care for both children and adults.
