Georgia’s largest no-kill animal shelter is reeling after a tragic multi-car accident involving one of its transport vans left people injured, cats missing, and lives lost .
Furkids Animal Rescue and Shelters, based in metro Atlanta, said the van was carrying 37 cats to a partner shelter in Vermont when the crash happened just 90 minutes after departure from Georgia.
The crash occurred on Interstate 85 in Jackson County, Georgia, about 62 miles northeast of Atlanta. The rescue shared the news in a heartbreaking post on Facebook Monday night .
