A new spin-off series, reminiscent of Death in Paradise and titled Death in Benidorm, has announced that its lead detective will be portrayed by the well-known actor, John Hannah.

John will take on the role of Dennis Crown, a former detective trying to escape his past, only to find that trouble continues to follow him.

Despite the picturesque setting, he finds little tranquillity, particularly with an unlikely partner by his side.

The BAFTA-nominated actor stars as Dennis, who has swapped the chaos of the UK for a more peaceful life running a bar in Benidorm.

However, when tourists start turning up dead, he's reluctantly drawn back into the world of detective work, encouraged by his barmaid, Rosa, a crime drama enthusiast.
