A successful season for a Shawnee 5th-grade Little League football team turned chaotic Saturday during a game against Guthrie. The Shawnee Wolves, coached by James Rutledge, were leading 30–0 in the fourth quarter when tensions spiraled out of control.
Rutledge says the Guthrie team walked off the field during the fourth quarter.
“I guess they couldn’t take it,” he said. “One of their coaches had his finger in my face. I told him, ‘Relax, bro. What are we doing?’”
