Authorities in Newark request the public’s help in identifying the female suspect in connection with an aggravated assault that occurred on Sunday, October 12.

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., said that at approximately 7:15 p.m., police responded to Family Dollar, located at 62 Broadway, on a call that the suspect, who was questioned by store security about shoplifting, became irate and threw items at a female cashier and slapped a male security guard before fleeing, heading southbound on Broadway.

The woman is described as having a dark brown complexion and medium build, Newark officials said.

According to Newark officials, she was wearing a black zippered sweater, black pants, and a red head bonnet.
