An East Lothian RNLI crew were sent to a vessel 'in difficulty' on Monday afternoon.
Dunbar RNLI volunteer Gordon Kirkham was preparing for his final assessment when the alarms were sounded, and he was dispatched to a motor cruiser a mile from Torness Power Station.
At around 1.35pm on October 13, the lifeboat was sent to the boat which had become 'tangled in fishing gear'. The owner had been attempting to free the propeller but was unsuccessful.
The decision was made to put a crew member in the water to cut the rope, and free the boat. No damage was done, and the vessel continued on to its destination.
Dunbar RNLI stood down at 2.25pm and returned to the station. An RNLI spokesperson said: "At 1.35pm, 13 October 2025, Dunbar RNLI all-weather lifeboat John Neville Taylor launched
