LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Sentencing has been pushed back for a man who pleaded guilty for his role in a shooting that left a child paralyzed.

Jonathan Rivera appeared in court via video Tuesday morning.

He pleaded guilty to five counts of wanton endangerment in connection to the 2023 shooting.

Onyx Sands, who was 6 years old at the time, was riding in an SUV with her two siblings when shots were fired on I-65.

Shell casings found at the scene matched a gun taken from Rivera.

He was expected to be sentenced to five years probation Tuesday, but that has been delayed until two other people go on trial in the case in 2026.

Rivera will testify at those trials as part of his plea.
