STATESBORO, Ga. (WTOC) - More than 50 animals were rescued from a Statesboro home today in what officials are calling a nightmare situation.

Deputies arrested two people on animal cruelty charges following the early morning operation on October 14, 2025, after the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office obtained a search warrant.

The suspects were taken to the Bulloch County Jail.

Agencies remained on scene throughout the morning rescuing dogs and cats from the property.

The Atlanta Humane Society and Bulloch County Animal Shelter are assisting with medical evaluations of the rescued animals.

Deputies have told WTOC the animals show clear signs of abuse and injuries.

Investigators also discovered one deceased dog inside the home.
