Cordons are in place in an area of Plymouth as the fire service investigates an incident today, Tuesday, October 14. Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue were called to Dayton Close, in Crownhill , at 1.25pm.
Two appliances were sent to the incident, where an occupant of a house complained of a strong smell of fuel. One crew remains at the scene this evening, along with South West Water , to check for a potential leak of fuel.
A neighbouring property was also evacuated and cordons remain in place.

A witness told PlymouthLive: "Major problem at Dayton Close in Crownhill. Houses have been evacuated and there are two fire engines, a command vehicle and other utilities on site.
