The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detained a 48-year-old Indian-origin Green Card holder, Paramjit Singh, for over two months. He was detained at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago.
According to a report published by India Today, Singh has been living in the United States since 1994 and is battling a brain tumour and heart conditions. Singh’s family alleged that he is being denied medical care during his detention and that his brain surgery has been delayed as a result.
On the other hand, ICE officials have cited two criminal cases to justify his detention. Singh’s family members have rejected these allegations, calling them “inaccurate.”
