JACKSON TWP. ‒ Police arrested a 33-year-old man on domestic violence and other charges after a confrontation that led to an officer firing their gun.
A news release from Police Chief Mark H. Brink says officers responded at 7:54 p.m. Oct. 13 to a home in the 8000 block of Parkford Street NW, just east of Wales Avenue NW.
"Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect brandishing a firearm and refused to comply with law enforcement commands," Brink wrote.
"The suspect’s movements, coupled with his non-compliance, (led) officers to believe that violence was imminent. In response to this threat, a responding officer discharged a firearm. No injuries resulted from the firearm discharge."
