The trial of a Montreal teen facing terrorism charges has been delayed until December after the Crown announced that some evidence could not be shared with the defence at this time.

The 17-year-old Montrealer, accused of planning to carry out a terrorist attack on behalf of the Islamic State , was in Quebec youth court Tuesday morning.

“The Federal Court will decide whether disclosing the evidence could be prejudicial to national security, national defence or international relations, but the court will balance all those issues, and the court will decide,” Crown prosecutor Marc Cigana told reporters outside the courtroom.

Defence lawyer Tiago Murias said he couldn’t proceed without that evidence.

The Crown agreed with the defence’s request for a delay, and the judge set the next hearing
