An investigation was continuing Tuesday into the death of former Sen. Mitt Romney’s sister-in-law, who apparently fell or jumped from a five-story parking garage near the Valencia Town Center mall.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Carrie Elizabeth Romney, 64, of Valencia, was found dead around 9 p.m. Friday in the 24000 block of Town Center Drive. A cause of death was pending an investigation by the county Medical Examiner.
Mitt Romney, a former governor of Massachusetts and a U.S. senator from Utah, was the Republican presidential nominee in 2012 but lost to Democrat Barack Obama. Carrie Romney was married to Romney’s brother, Scott.
