CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) -- The West Virginia State Parks Foundation was awarded a grant for forestry work in two parks.
According to a press release, the grant, totaling approximately $17,500, will be used for forestry work in North Bend and Bluestone State Parks. Workers at both state parks will use the grant funding to remove dead and possibly dangerous trees from recreational areas.
The Hearts of STIHL grant, funded by Stihl USA, concentrates on programs and projects that relate to recovery, sustainability, conservation, or environmental education, the release stated. Yearly, finding is granted through the National Association of State Park Directors. The West Virginia State Parks Foundation were awarded a grant similar to this one for work at Twin Falls State Park.
