DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) -- A 19-year-old Decatur man was arrested last week after police said he traveled to an underage girl's home for a sexual encounter, only to discover he had been caught in a sting by the girl's parents.

Decatur Police said in a sworn statement that Trayse Lacroix, 19, was arrested at the family's home on Wednesday, Oct. 8. Since then, he's been formally charged with traveling to meet a minor, grooming and indecent solicitation of a child.

The events that led up to Lacroix's arrest, police said, began with a routine disciplinary action. Officer Joshua Scudder, who signed the statement, said the girl's mother took her phone away because she had gotten in trouble at school and her grades were falling.
