SAN MATEO, Calif. — A Cass County woman has filed a federal lawsuit against online gaming giant Roblox Corporation, alleging she was sexually exploited by a man who posed as a peer on the app when she was using it as a 13-year-old and that the company “recklessly and deceptively” operated in a way that allowed her to be targeted.

The woman, now 19, is identified only as “Jane Doe A.S.” in the complaint, filed Tuesday, Oct. 14, on her behalf by national litigation firm Dolman Law Group in the Northern District of California, where Roblox is based.

Roblox is designed as an interactive experience, allowing and encouraging users to communicate with each other while they play games in a wide variety of categories, from pets, gardening and fashion simulators to survival adventures and disaster
