A family in Cambridge has lost their home and nearly everything inside after an fire ripped through the three-storey townhome overnight.

Early Tuesday morning, Janine Hagey and her family were woken up around 1 a.m. as sirens blared down their street.

“When we came out, we heard popping,” said Hagey.

“The house was engulfed, and the dad was just walking down the street.”

Hagey and her husband were in awe as they saw the towering flames consume the front of the home on Fairgreen Close in Cambridge.

The couple’s first instinct was to make sure the two young children who lived at the home were safe.

After speaking with the father, they found the rest of the family waiting at the end of the street, watching as their house and its contents burned.
