HINTON, Iowa (KTIV) - Voters in Plymouth County will have another opportunity this November to decide on funding for Hinton’s schools.

This marks the third attempt to pass a bond referendum, following previous efforts in 2023 and 2024.

The proposed bond, totaling $8.9 million, aims to address a range of essential improvements across the school district. Key initiatives include:

Replacing aging heating and cooling systems

Installing energy-efficient lighting

Upgrading outdated windows, ceilings, and electrical systems

Removing asbestos where necessary

Repairing damaged brickwork to protect the building envelope

Upgrading restrooms to meet ADA accessibility standards

Also mentioned in the plans, are plans to renovate the high school shop, art and science classrooms to support hands-
