One person is dead and another is injured following a crash between a van and truck near Hagersville, Ont., Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say.

OPP said at 10:41 a.m. on Tuesday Highway 3 and Haldimand Road 20 were fully closed between Haldimand Road 53 and Dry Lake Road following a “serious collision" between a "passenger vehicle and transport truck."

On Tuesday afternoon, Const. Patti Cote said in a video posted to social media the passenger in the van died in the collision.

The person driving the van was transported to hospital with “undetermined injuries,” Cote said.

She said the roads would be closed for several hours as police investigate.
