MAPLETON, Iowa (KTIV) - The Monona County Sheriff’s Office announced a scheduled electrical outage in Mapleton, Iowa.

According to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office, a four-hour electric outage is planned for the entire city of Mapleton.

The outage will run from Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 11 p.m. until Thursday, Oct. 16, at 3 a.m.

Mapleton Mayor Brent Streck said crews will be switching over to new power lines during this time.

The sheriff’s office noted a few things to keep in mind:

Medical devices might need to go on battery power.

Family members with elderly at home plan accordingly for air tanks.

Businesses should note this time with alarm companies.
