ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A new program in Rochester offers expectant moms a $1,000 monthly stipend for up to two years to help improve maternal health and family success.
It’s called the Nest Program and it’s operated by the nonprofit Healthy Baby Network.
“We’ve never had a program like this combining these sets of services,” said President and CEO Sherita Bullock. She says it will be a game changer for the 200 pregnant women who qualify.
“It’s literally going to be a launching pad for them. It partners and brings together all of the possible needed support. There’s prenatal education, there’s birth preparation and support, group classes, and individual one-on-one sessions with case managers,” said Bullock.
The program is funded by the Monroe County Division of Social Services in part
