SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. — Deputies are asking for the public's help finding the driver who hit a 61-year-old man with a car and left him lying in the roadway.
According to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, the deadly crash happened in the 10200 block of Patriot Highway just before midnight on Saturday.
When deputies arrived, they found James Bijesse lying in the roadway. First responders tried to help the man, who had no fixed address, but he died at the scene of the crash.
The sheriff's office says the driver had already left when deputies arrived.
The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with video footage or information regarding the suspect vehicle is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 540-582-7115.
