FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WSMV) - Update: A firefighter was injured while battling a fire at a Franklin apartment complex that left several units damaged.

The fire department confirmed to WSMV4 the following update on the fire response at the IMT Apartments on Gillespie Drive:

A firefighter was hospitalized after sustaining an injury while battling a fire.

No other injuries were reported.

The Fire was initially reported at 3 p.m. from multiple 911 calls.

The apartment complex is a three-story building with 24 units

So far, firefighters believe at least 6-12 units were damaged

The fire appeared to have started outside and traveled up the side and went into the attic

The building has sprinklers, but there are none in the attic

Complex is working with residents displaced by the fire
