As a result of the government shutdown, federal layoffs are starting to hit companies. Goodwill is here to help.

"In this time, right now, where there's high demand for employment, individuals need help," Career Service Program Manager Kevin Townsend said. "They just need somebody to support them."

The company is offering services to those looking for jobs, starting with Tuesday's job fair.

"We help with resumes, we help with job applications, job searches. We'll tag along to things like this, to career fairs," Townsend said.

There were over 20 businesses at the fair, including military, apprenticeships and healthcare. One of those included Tayjaha Hill and QLI, a nonprofit that provides rehabilitation therapy for people who've suffered brain and spinal injuries.
