KEARNEY, Neb. —
A teen who alleges he was sexually abused by former staff members at the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center (YRTC) in Kearney remains in legal limbo as juvenile court struggles to determine where he should be placed.
KETV Investigates has previously reported on the allegations made by the teen, as well as cases involving two former YRTC staffers. Now, new court documents KETV obtained reveal another child may have also been assaulted.
The latest allegation involves a former YRTC staffer allegedly engaging in a relationship with one of the teens. Douglas County Public Defender Tom Riley said the case highlights a broader, ongoing issue.
"It seems like this is way too common an event that's going on there," Riley said.
