LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Texas Tech police confirmed they have the pocket knife that was found on the field during Saturday night’s Kansas game.

This is a follow-up on claims Kansas coach Lance Leipold made that night about someone throwing it at a staff member. Texas Tech police said the incident was reported directly to athletics and not the police department.

Someone did turn the knife into officers on the field. KCBD reached out to the athletics department and the Big 12 Conference for comment.

Tech said a closed pocket knife was found on the field. They turned it over to Tech PD and was asked by the Big 12 to file a report to the allegations made by Kansas.
